Lecturer Pool AY 24-25: Department of Educational Leadership East Bay
The Department of Educational Leadership seeks one or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024 and/or Spring Semester 2025.
Lecturer Pool for Department of Criminal Justice AY 24-25 East Bay
This is a part-time lecture position in the Department of Criminal Justice (CRJ) for AY 24-25. Lecture faculty teach lower-division and upper-division courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online platforms. Courses are offered at both the Hayward and Concord campuses. The CRJ program curriculum focuses on key areas of the criminal justice system such as law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Minimum requirements are JD or M.A./M.S. in a related field with teaching experience at the university level as well as professional experience. A Ph.D. in a related field preferred.
Lecturer Pool for Department of Sociology AY 24-25 East Bay
The Sociology Department may need lecturers for one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, Research Methods Social Psychology, Social Policy, Work and Professions, Sociology of Education, Social Inequality, Environmental Sociology, Sociology of Sport, Medical Sociology, Sociology of Organizations, and Sociology of Emotions. Lecturer Pool for Department of Psychology AY 24-25 East Bay
The Department of Psychology usually has part-time positions open to teach undergraduate courses in all areas of psychology. Minimum requirement: Ph.D. in Psychology (or related field) or enrollment in a Ph.D. program with sufficient progress towards the degree is preferred. Candidates who possess a Master’s degree and teaching experience in an appropriate field will be considered. Teaching assigned classes in psychology. Preparing syllabi and other course materials, planning class sessions and out-of-class activities, communicating with students and helping them with class material as appropriate, and holding regular office hours. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. Lecturer Pool for Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, AY 24-25 East Bay
Part-time positions teaching introductory courses in Geology and Environmental Science. Courses may include Earth Systems Science, Oceanography, Meteorology, Environmental Biology, and Climate Change. Opportunities may occasionally arise for teaching evening graduate classes in applied fields such as Engineering Geology. Minimum requirement of M.S. in Geology, Environmental Science or its equivalent, or enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Geology, Environmental Science or its equivalent with sufficient progress towards the degree.

Part-time lecturer position teaching Hands On Science Teaching (HOST Labs) and Connecting to STEM Majors course for the College of Science. For consideration, applicants must possess a graduate degree in a STEM discipline and have teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Lecturer Pool Statistics and Biostatistics AY 24-25 East Bay
Part-time positions teaching undergraduate statistics courses including general introductory statistics along with those oriented toward various disciplines in business, natural and social sciences, humanities, and engineering. Minimum requirement of M.S. in Statistics or Biostatistics (Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred) or M.S. degree in a related field of application with teaching experience.
Lecturer Pool for Department of Biological Sciences - AY 24-25 East Bay
Part-time lecturer positions teaching major and non-major courses in Biology including Introductory Biology, Genetics, Developmental Genetics, Hematology, General Microbiology, Medical Microbiology and Human Physiology and Anatomy. A Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences or related field is required for these positions. However, for certain non-major courses only, the Ph.D. requirement may be waived, but M.S. is required. The policy and expectation is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.
Lecturer Pool for Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry AY 24-25 East Bay
The successful candidate will teach up to 15 contact hours per week in undergraduate laboratories and/or lectures, with assignments being consistent with the candidate’s expertise and training, as well as the specific needs of the Department. Most of our instructional needs will be in introductory chemistry courses. In addition to classroom teaching, the candidate will be expected to hold office hours for students and perform the other normal duties associated with teaching. M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry, applicants with degrees in related fields to chemistry will be considered if they have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry or biochemistry.
Lecturer Pool - Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences - AY 24-25 East Bay
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences seeks part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for teaching appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024, and Spring Semester, 2025. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree and an accredited Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology. Assignments might include teaching one or more basic and advanced course(s) for undergraduate and graduate students. There are approximately 200 majors and five regular faculty.
Lecturer Pool Department of Public Health AY 24-25 East Bay
The Department of Public Health has part-time positions open for teaching undergraduate courses to students inside and outside the major. It is recruiting in all areas, but has a particular need for instructors in: health/medical humanities, health disparities/health equity, bioethics, health law, health economics, health regulation, health care payment systems, and health data & information management. A doctoral-level degree, e.g. PhD, DrPH, MD, JD, or proof of candidacy for a doctorate is required; applicants with a Master’s Degree with accompanying certification and/or work experience will be considered. Candidates with experience teaching within a population perspective through a lens of social determinants (including structural racism) are desired. The Department prefers applicants with teaching experience at the college/university level, primarily in-person. Part-time positions teaching (clinical or lecture) undergraduate Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatric, Perinatal, Gerontologic, Mental Health, Community Health Nursing, and Health Assessment. M.S. in Nursing from an accredited College or University which includes course work in nursing, education or administration; current, unrestricted California RN license, one year of clinical experience providing direct patient care within the last five years, eligibility for BRN approval to teach in a nursing program. Teaching experience at University level preferred for all positions.

Part-time position teaching in School of Engineering at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level. M.S. degree in Engineering/ Construction Management with relevant work experience is required. Ph.D. degree in Engineering/ Construction Management is preferred.
